Rosneft President and Chairman of the Management Board Igor Sechin took part in a foundation stone laying ceremony that launched the construction of a facility that will produce gas turbine units in the city of Rybinsk in the Yaroslavl region of Russia. The facility, which is being built by Russian Gas Turbines (a joint venture between General Electric, INTER RAO and the United Engine Corporation), will in Q2 2014 begin producing and servicing 77MW low-emission high-efficiency 6FA packaged gas turbine units. Five packaged turbine units will be supplied by General Electric for a thermal power plant at the Eastern Petrochemical Company, a major Rosneft project. The first turbines are expected to arrive in Q3 2014. Rosneft’s order created conditions for the launch of the plant.
