Navigation Сampaign Has Been Launched at Vankor

19 June 2014

Rosneft subsidiary Vankorneft has launched the navigation campaign on delivery of nearly 400 thousand tons of cargoes via the Bolshaya Kheta River (left tributary of the Yenisei). This year, in addition to traditional cargo transportation at the Vankorskiy production site and the Priluki terminal, the delivery at the Suzunskoye field is also planned. The Suzun will become a new discharge terminal as in November 2013 the enterprise was confirmed to be the operator in the developing of new fields in the Vankor cluster, the Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye, and Lodochnoye fields.

Field delivery by the convoy of vessels is the most efficient way of bulk quantity cargoes transportation to the Vankor group of fields. At the Bolshaya Kheta River more than 100 vessel units are planned for this marine transit. Within two weeks of “high water” the vessels are to deliver the cargo to the destination points which are 400 km away. The items for delivery include steel-constructions, drill pipes, chemical products, loose cargoes, fuel and lubricants, rolled steel, and different equipment.

Under the navigation campaign preparation, the organizational and technical measures have been taken this spring in order to prepare for the work during the flood and navigation seasons. There have been conducted inspection of the moorages and the portholes for meltwater, as well as works on bank protection and environmental measures.

Notes for Editors:

Vankorneft carries out the development of the Vankor oil, gas and condensate field in the northern part of Krasnoyarsk Territory, in Turukhansky and Taimyr municipal districts. Commercial production at the Vankor field began in August 2009. There have been extracted over 80 million tons of oil from the beginning of the production. The initial recoverable reserves of oil are 499 million tons, and the initial recoverable reserves of gas are 182 billion cubic meters.

The enterprise also develops Suzunskoye, Tagulskoye, and Lodochnoye fields with the use of the Vankor infrastructure.
