RN-Uvatneftegaz, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s upstream complex, has switched to means of digital control over the unit power consumption rate on its production facilities. The Company’s first ever Continuous Audit Automated System (CAAS) has been introduced at the enterprise.
Improvement of production asset efficiency is one of the key components of the Rosneft-2022 Strategy. The Company carries out consistent work aimed at sustainable utilization of resources and reduction of energy consumption, optimization of electrical loads and thermal processes in accordance with the requirements of international standard ISO 50001 “Energy Management System”.
The Russian-made software facilitates high-precision monitoring of power consumption of various technological processes, displaying power consumption as a whole and for each unit separately, as well as promptly taking measures to correct the equipment operation mode. All the data is presented on the operator’s main screen.
In addition, the system assesses the level of power supply to the cluster sites, as well as losses in the power networks. The system calculates the energy-saving potential for reservoir pressure maintenance pumps, correlates them with current operation parameters and provides recommendations on energy efficiency measures.
This provides for identification of energy-saving potential for equipment previously inaccessible for control, rapid detection of deviations from the set mode, and real-time monitoring of the performance of planned indicators for unit power consumption.
In 2019, RN-Uvatneftegaz saved 222 million roubles within its energy-saving programme.
Measures on introduction of energy-saving equipment contributed to the economic effect achieved.
Note for Editors:
RN-Uvatneftegaz is engaged in hydrocarbon exploration and production in the south of Tyumen Region, in Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District--Yugra, and in Omsk Region. The enterprise’s upstream assets form the Uvat project, one of the priority initiatives of Rosneft Oil Company.
The Uvat project comprises 20 licence areas and 40 fields. The total area of the project exceeds 26 square kilometres.
