Ryazan Oil Refining Company, an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s refining complex, has switched the gasoline catalytic reforming unit to a catalyst made by the Angarsk Plant of Catalysts and Organic Synthesis, a subsidiary of Rosneft Oil Company. This is Ryazan Oil Refining Company’s fourth processing unit operating successfully with Russian catalysts in the stead of their costly imported analogues.
In-house technological potential development is one of the key items of the Rosneft-2022 Strategy. The Company is consistently introducing innovative developments throughout the entire production chain.
The reforming catalyst by the Angarsk Plant of Catalysts and Organic Synthesis provides the shortest way for the chemical reaction during the refining process. It is the key component in the production of the Euro 5 commercial gasoline, as well as RON-100 and green Euro 6, the innovative gasolines of Rosneft. The catalyst has high performance in terms of catalyst yield from hydrocarbons and operational stability. The application technology of the domestic product helps Ryazan Oil Refining Company improve the consumer properties of motor fuels. The octane number of catalysts produced exceeds 95 points by the research method.
Rosneft’s operating innovative development programme is aimed at the replacement of imported technologies in high-quality oil products production. One of the programme’s main objectives is to shift the Company’s refineries to the use of in-house catalysts, thus avoiding risks of dependence on foreign products.
