Rosneft-Bunker bunkered the legendary training sailing vessel Khersones in the port of Novorossiysk with eco-friendly fuel.
The bunkering tanker RN - Tuapse supplied the sailing vessel with 100 tons of environmentally friendly TMS-A fuel (less than 0.1%) in compliance with all the rules of marine and environmental safety.
The vessel will depart from Novorossiysk and proceed to Tuapse. The Khersones' crew includes cadets of the Sevastopol branch of the State Maritime University named after Admiral F. Ushakov. During the voyage, they undergo navigation practice and master modern maritime specialties.
Thanks to the long-term cooperation between Rosneft Bunker and Rosmorport, such famous ships as Mir, Khersones and Nadezhda have already taken part in international regattas and round-the-world voyages. Sailing vessels use Rosneft fuel to make long voyages, increasing the prestige of the Russian marine fleet and the level of sailors professional training.
Note for Editors:
The sailing training vessel Khersones is a modern three-masted frigate. It was built in 1989 and is considered one of the fastest training vessels. It became famous in 1997 by sailing around Cape Horn with the engines off. Since then nobody has managed to achieve that. Currently, the vessel is used for sailing practice by cadets of Russian maritime universities.
