More than 12 million fry of valuable fish species were released into the river systems of Russia by employees of Rosneft. The contribution to the restoration of aquatic biological resources of the Volga and Ob-Irtysh basins was made by RN-Uvatneftegaz, Samotlorneftegaz, RN-Purneftegaz, Sibneftegaz, Tyumenneftegaz and RN-Nyaganneftegaz, SevKomNeftegaz, NK Kondaneft, Saratov Oil Refinery, as well as enterprises of the Samara region - Samaraneftegaz, Syzran Oil Refinery, Novokuibyshevskaya Petrochemical Company, Novokuibyshevsk Oil Refinery and Kuibyshevsky Refinery.
Preservation of the environment is an integral part of Rosneft's corporate culture. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimizing the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and implements several comprehensive programmes for the preservation and restoration of natural resources.
As a member of the UN Global Compact and guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as national environmental goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, Rosneft developed the Environmental Development Concept 2030, which along with the Carbon Management Plan 2035 became a core ingredient of the long-term environmental agenda of the Company, which determined the basic principles of its environmental activities.
Fish fry was grown by order of the Company at fish hatcheries and released into the river systems of Russia with the participation of territorial departments representatives of the Federal Agency for Fishery and branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Glavrybvod. In a few years, muksun, sterlet and the species from the Red Data Book - Siberian sturgeon - will give full-fledged offspring.
