On Knowledge Day, Rosneft Oil Company has opened its first specialised class in the town of Dudinka, Taymyr Dolgano-Nenets Autonomous District, Krasnoyarsk Territory. This region is situated in the perimeter of the flagship Vostok Oil project. The Company is expanding its programmes of cooperation with educational institutions in the region as it develops its new northern assets and has a growing need for qualified personnel.
The new specialised class is based at School No. 7. Twenty-five high school students who have passed the Advanced Placement tests in mathematics, computer science, physics and chemistry will study there for two years. The aspiring petroleum specialists will be introduced to the oil and gas industry and encouraged to participate in corporate training and competitions, as well as research and development conferences. The advanced subject courses will be taught by professors from the Institute of Oil and Gas at Siberian Federal University.
Rosneft Classes are the initial stage of the corporate system of continuous education “school - university – enterprise”, the main task of which is to provide schoolchildren with vocational guidance and intensified preparation for entry into the nation’s oil and gas universities. The Company establishes specialised classes in the regions of its operation, with a basis at the leading institutions for general education.
At the moment, there are ten Rosneft Classes serving in five towns and settlements of Krasnoyarsk Territory. The graduates have started working at the Company’s production facilities.
Vostok Oil’s large-scale training programme includes comprehensive cooperation schedules with the Institute of Oil and Gas of the Siberian Federal University, Igarsky Multiprofile Technical School, Taimyr College and Krasnoyarsk Assembly College, as well as the establishment of a Corporate Training Centre in Krasnoyarsk.
