Enterprises of Rosneft’s Samara production complex took part in cleaning up Podzhabny Island in the waters of the Volga River as part of the global campaign ‘We Clean Up the World’. Employees cleaned up more than 30,000 m2 of land. In total, the Samara production complex employees cleaned up more than 130,000 m2 of banks of the Volga River, small rivers, lakes and springs in the region, and collected and removed about 200 m3 of household and natural waste in 2021.
Responsible attitude towards the environment is an integral part of Rosneft Oil Company’s corporate culture and one of the key principles of its business.
Employees of Samaraneftegaz, Novokuibyshevsk Petrochemical Company, Novokuibyshevsk and Kuibyshev refineries took part in the ‘We Clean Up the World’ environmental event.
The Company’s enterprises in Samara Region participate annually in various environmental initiatives and campaigns, such as ‘Water of Russia’, ‘Volga Day’, ‘Days of Environmental Protection’, ‘Springs of Samara Region, ‘My Homeland’, ‘We Clean Up the World.

The global event ‘We Clean Up the World’ takes place every year on September 21 through 27. The ‘Clean Up the Planet’ campaign was first held in September 1993 in Australia. Gradually other countries joined the campaign, and nowadays millions of volunteers from 100 countries participate in it all over the world.
