Rosneft Enterprises Release over 117 Million Fry into Russian Rivers and Reservoirs in 2021

Rosneft Oil Company’s subsidiaries released more than 117 million fry bred in fish farms into Russia’s river systems in 2021 as part of a programme to preserve biodiversity and replenish aquatic bioresources.

Preservation of the environment is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft and its subsidiaries. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production and implements several comprehensive programmes for the preservation and restoration of natural resources.

As a member of the UN Global Compact and guided by the UN Sustainable Development Goals, as well as national environmental goals of the Russian Federation for the period up to 2030, Rosneft developed the Environmental Vision 2030, which along with the Carbon Management Plan 2035 became a core element of the Company’s long-term environmental agenda.

In 2021, more than 60 Rosneft subsidiaries arranged and participated in aquatic biological resources reproduction activities to preserve and increase fish fauna. The biggest contributor to the conservation and enhancement of fish fauna was RN-Yuganskneftegaz, Rosneft’s largest production enterprise.

Fish fry was grown by order of the Company at fish hatcheries and released into the river systems of Russia with the participation of territorial departments representatives of the Federal Agency for Fishery and branches of the Federal State Budgetary Institution Glavrybvod.
