RN-Nyaganneftegaz (an enterprise of Rosneft Oil Company’s oil and gas production complex) has completed a comprehensive remediation programme for the historic heritage land of Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District—Yugra (accumulated during the Soviet period). The programme has helped remediate more than 114 hectares of previously damaged historic heritage land, with 14 hectares in 2022.
Preservation of the environment for future generations is an integral part of the corporate culture of Rosneft. The Company aims to achieve leadership positions in minimising the environmental impact and ensuring the eco-friendliness of its production.
Technical and biological remediation of oil-contaminated heritage land has benefited from the use of modern specialised equipment, sorbents and biodegraders. Furthermore, RN-Nyaganneftegaz specialists have used various agrotechnical and phytomelioration techniques in order to reintroduce the flora and fauna of the district.

RN-Nyaganneftegaz is the main oil producing enterprise in Nyagan. Its operating facilities are located at the Krasnoleninskoye vault of deposits, commercial operation of which began in 1980. The enterprise operates three blocks located in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District. Its main upstream assets are Yem-Yogov and Kamenny blocks.
RN-Nyaganneftegaz’s Health, Safety and Environment Management System conforms to the requirements of ISO 45001:2018, Occupational Health and Safety Management System, and ISO 14001:2015, Environmental Management System.
