RN-Aircraft, a company of Rosneft group, and the Canadian Viking Air Limited signed supply contract for 10 aircrafts.
A priority task of Rosneft is efficient and reliable aviation services for the company’s business in remote areas. Passenger multi-purpose aircraft DHC-6 Series 400 Twin Otter by Viking Air Limited is suitable for operation at unprepared ground sites, it is widely used by local airlines, at airfields with short runways, marine aerodromes and in the field conditions.
It is expected that the aircrafts will be delivered between November 2015 and February 2017. The aircrafts are planned to be used in Krasnoyarsk Region which will reduce the cost of transporting the shift personnel and cargo.
The parties are also discussing localization of Viking Air aircraft production in Russia, including the creation of training centers for aviation personnel, service centers, maintenance stations, and infrastructure setup to support the full “life cycle” of the aircraft operation in our country.
