Rosneft and the Far Eastern Federal University extend cooperation
12 September 2018Rosneft and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) entered into a Cooperation Agreement in the framework of the IV Eastern Economic Forum.
The Agreement provides for wider cooperation between the oil company and the Far East's leading educational institution in the field of personnel training for Rosneft enterprises, advanced personnel training of the Company's employees, as well as in the field of scientific and innovative activities in such areas as Geophysics, Geochemistry, hydrogeology, engineering Geology, production, transportation, oil and gas processing, oil and gas chemistry, shipbuilding.
The Agreement will facilitate the development of partnership between Rosneft and FEFU, help addressing the Company's staffing and technology and research objectives in the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as contribute to the state educational policy enhancement.
Rosneft intends to assist the University in conducting fundamental studies, particularly through providing targeted grants for scientific and research activities in the areas which are of importance to the Company.

For several years Rosneft and the Far Eastern Federal University have been partners in the training of skilled personnel in occupations strongly sought-for by the oil and gas industry. The University has a Specialized Department of Rosneft in place. Over the 5-year period, more than 150 FEFU students got corporate funded scholarship, over 40 university professors received grants. More than 780 students completed pre-graduation internship at the Company Subsidiaries.
Over the previous years of cooperation, Rosneft's investments in the University's development projects, as well as joint research and innovation projects amounted to more than 308 million rubles.
Company-University education cooperation includes pre-university training of students in the Rosneft Classes, blue-collar training on the basis of University branches in Nakhodka and Bolshoy Kamen, as well as providing training to higher education professionals.
Rosneft and the University cooperate on a number of innovative projects related to the development of offshore fields.
